Cook/Kitchen Manager

Salary range £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and experienced Cook/Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen operations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on cooking, and has strong leadership skills to manage and maintain food quality, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
Cooking & Food Preparation:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency in presentation and taste.
- Oversee food prep to maintain efficient service during peak hours.
- Monitor portion control and minimize waste.
Kitchen Management:
- Schedule kitchen shifts and manage daily staffing requirements.
- Train new kitchen team members and ensure ongoing staff development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment.
Inventory & Cost Control:
- Order food and supplies in line with budget and inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and manage stock rotation.
- Minimize food waste and monitor kitchen costs to support profitability.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure food is stored, handled, and prepared in line with health regulations.
- Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards (HACCP or local guidelines).
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
Qualifications, Experience, Requirements:
- Proven experience as a cook with leadership or kitchen management responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices. Food safety level 2 minimum
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and work well within a team.
- Early mornings, weekends, will be required, working on a shift basis
