During the course you will:
- Experience, observe, and deliver high quality coaching in a group lesson
- Learn how to structure a padel lesson using game-based methodology
- Develop the communication skills to allow you to communicate effectively with players
- Discover how to integrate inclusion into every aspect of your coaching sessions
- Explore the LTA Tactical and Technical Development Frameworks to learn the fundamentals of tactics and techniques
On completion of the course, LTA Padel Instructors are formally trained in:
- Competition Organisation
- Safeguarding
You will also receive all lesson plans and videos to allow you to deliver Padel Xpress.
Course prerequisites
- You must have the LTA Enhanced with child barred list DBS check. If you are not an LTA Accredited coach, your LTA DBS must be less than 12 months from Issue date. If you have current LTA Accreditation the DBS can be less than 3 years from issue date. If you have an Enhanced DBS from another organisation the LTA will except this ONLY if it is on the Government Update Service.
- You must have successfully completed the LTA Padel Instructor Readiness Test or have a current ranking within the top 100 of the LTA Singles Padel Rankings. The Readiness Test can take up to two weeks to be assessed once submitted - please allow sufficient time for this before signing up for the course.
Assessment prerequisites
- You must have attended one 5-hour face to face elective course. There are 2 to choose from.
- You must have a current first aid certificate, either EFAW, FAW or PFA. (Emergency First Aid in the Workplace is a 1-day course, First Aid in the Workplace is a 3-day course, and Paediatric First Aid is a 2-day course).
