Opening in 2025
In partnership with Witney Town Council, the Community Ownership find and other stakeholders, we are working on transforming The Coffee Shed into a more efficient community café and multi-activity hub.
Once we’re done you’ll be able to book right here, in the mean time you can book tennis courts on our other website while we’re working on it.
We’ll keep you up to date if you join our mailing list.
Once complete, your new community café will be open from 8:00– 21:30 Whilst we're building the hub, we have a temporary container café run by the friendly and familiar Coffee Shed team. They will be there to provide you with takeaway coffee and light bites at the following times:
Opening hours: Winter Hours: Monday–Sunday 9:00–16:00
We've made it easy for you to plan your visit once we're open by offering online booking for your favourite activities.
Everything will be on one level here at The Leys, including the café, making it wheelchair accessible. Our courts and recreational spaces will be accessible for all to enjoy.
Toilets, including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities, will be available during café opening hours.
The tennis courts, multi-use games area (MUGA) and padel courts will have lighting which will automatically come on for the duration of your booking.
We will have a takeaway hatch for convenience if you can’t stop for long. Whilst we're building the hub, we have a temporary container café for takeaway coffee and light bites.
Car parking is available alongside The Leys but please be aware this is limited. If you are able to, we encourage you to use an alternative method of transport. Bicycle racks and accessible parking will be available behind the hub.
Picnic benches will be available to the side of the café for when the weather is too good to be inside.
Free WiFi access will be available for customers.
The Leys Recreation Ground is also home to an adventure playground, Witney Bowles club, and ample green space to be enjoyed.
Well behaved dogs will be welcome at the hub, including in the café.
We're a 10 minute walk from the centre of Witney in The Leys Recreation Ground. If you're cycling, we have bicycle racks behind the hub to help keep your bike safe whilst you're with us.
The nearest bus stops are Fernleigh and Sainsburys, and we're a short 10 minute walk from Market Square.
Please be aware there are a limited number of parking spots along The Leys. Disabled parking and mobility scooter parking can be found behind the hub itself.
